My party and I ordered ribeye dinners. The salad was bland, only cheap lettuce with a few pieces of another leafy green (arugula maybe) our appetizer was the breaded mushrooms, they were great and the ranch was very flavorful. I agree with a lot of these reviews saying the au jus was pretty tasteless, and the steak seemed like it had literally no seasoning at all whatsoever. Its one of those classic restaurant bars with great food. They know what they are doing at Halfmoon. The food was great, I had the ribs with the spicy BBQ. The burgers are also spot on. Hash browns as a side option. If you are looking to get fed. This is he place to go. Beers were good, no taps, can or bottle. Drink menu was solid showcasing several martinis that looked worth trying. Here's a great description of our experience. Cozy local Iowa vibe with delicious food.

A step back in time. Hasn't aged in about 50 years, but the food and ambiance are excellent. A must do if you are in the area!
