Arrogant and self centered. Doesn't know current treatments. Only had time for his AA patients.
Thinks everyone has a drinking problem. He is obsessed with alcohol and won't listen to any other issues. Will cancel your appointment if his AA friends need him.
The most empathetic psychiatrist I ever dealt with. Kind, willing to listen and give some advise. Takes a personal interest in you. Was able to prescribe the right balance of medication to keep bipolar condition in check for more than 20 years, greatly increasing my quality of life. Highly recommended!
He scarred me emotionally and psychologically as a young child under his medical care. He abandoned his patients. He created a rift between me and my parents that took years to mend. They still regret their decision to send me to him nearly 20 years ago. How he lives with himself, I'll never understand.
Dr Halapin was my doctor for 20 years. Best doctor I ever had.
Is this doctor ever going to practice again? He still has office phone but will not return calls. I give up.
This Doctor went out of business, did not send me my medical records and would leave sample drugs in his mailbox???! I saw him for over 5 years and twice during that period, Dr. Halapin closed his doors, no warning as I went to my scheduled appointment to find the office LOCKED up and closed down! Finally, his doors were closed for good. I spoke with him on the phone and requested my medical records for my new Dr. He promised he'd mail them to me and it never happened! POOR excuse for a Dr.
