Best shrimp and grits I have ever had. And I've had A LOT! Cool jazz during our visit. Highly recommend.

Hal & Mal’s was a fantastic stop on my 2,600-mile road trip to pick up my daughter from college in Louisiana. I was charging my Tesla across the street and decided to come in, and I’m glad I did. The atmosphere was excellent, the food was outstanding, and the overall vibe made this place memorable. I’ll definitely be back to experience one of their live music nights. Allie was a great host as well. Highly recommended.

This is an old warehouse hidden a block behind State St (near the mini tunnel) that doubles as an entertainment venue and restuarant/bar. Cool history and interior. Had lunch, the shrimp po boy and burger were both good. They could use more wait staff, but service was good. In this part of downtown Jackson, probably one of your better dining options.
