I went here recently with my girlfriend and it was a fantastic experience. The food was great and our server Jay made our experience lovely. Will be coming back soon for round 2!
As Ojai locals, we loved Hakane at the previous location. Food in the usual Japanese mix - sushi, ramen, teriyaki - done competently. It was close, friendly, and a good time. But, our last two attempts have been dismal failures. Never even got seated. Happened again last night. We rolled into a half full dining room, said table for five, they look at the empty tables - four tops and six tops - and say 'Sorry, we aren't set up for 5.'
