The first time going to this hair cuttery on Grand in Gurnee and the last. I didn’t even get to get a hair cut before I walked out. If you are black don’t bother to go you will property not get waited on. I make an 1100 appointment which I got there about 10 minutes early to get a feel of the place. I have been going to Hair Cuttery for quite a few years and the staff is always friendly. Except the manager. On numerous occasions, I have witnessed the manager (Berna) arguing with the customers over pricing, demanding payment for services and interrogating the customers regarding their ignorance to company pricing. She doesn't see anything wrong with reprimanding/yelling at the hairstylists for whatever she perceives as an infraction of her rules. I had a 3 o'clock appointment today got there at 2:45 sat there till 330. Someone walked in without an appointment and got taken in five minutes. Got tired of waiting so I walked out
Heads up to African American women !!! They don't know how to do your hair !! I was in the one in the Roosevelt Mall March 13, 2021. They tell you one price , then charge you more when you check out ! Talk about a bad hair day!! The place is dirty and don't clean their brushes between people !!! SMH Lee is the worst !!!
Made an appointment. Showed up for appointment. Stylist wasn’t there. Nobody ever attempted to call, text, or email about cancellation. The gal who checked me in didn’t apologize at all— just assumed I’d take the back-up stylist. Since I’d gone there based on referral, I left and got my haircut at another salon. First time back since under the new ownership. Tabitha did an awesome job on my color/cut. She listened and delivered. All other staff was extremely welcoming and friendly except one. Not sure who Heather is but made my experience (4 hours) extremely uncomfortable. She almost bumped into me at the washing stations and would not even look at me nor did she acknowledge my presentence at all. Book when she is not there. Otherwise, everyone else is friendly and knowledgeable. Will book with Tabitha from now on.
Deborah Copass. My stylist is Tracy. She is simply the best. She cares about your opinion on how you want your hair cut. I don't let anyone else cut my hair.
