The institute coded my mammogram incorrectly and I have been fighting with the institute and insurance for over a year. The bill was over $1,000. Avoid this place. It seems nice but they really don't care about patients. As a side note: they also had poor picture quality and want me to go back for a technical recall and do it again. There is NO WAY I'm going back with a risk of possibly being charged again.
Very, very long wait very single time I go. They obviously overbook appointments. Every time I come, there is an “issue” with a machine or a backup or something. I was promised that because my appointment was in the morning, I wouldn’t have to be there for 5 hours like the last time. When I walked in, it was already packed. It’s just hard to transfer all of my files and history to another place, but I feel this is what I might need to do.
Doesn't take United Health Care. Was told they did by surgeon's office. Also that surgeon would "accept assignment." Found out that this was NOT true day before biopsies were scheduled. Cancelled appointment and now have to be pay surgeon's entire bill. This is a major cancer center and they don't take UHC!!! Really, if it's good enough for Sloan and NYU, which I both recommend highly, it should be good enough for Betty.
This place is awesome. All the staff members treat you like family. They make you feel you're in good hands. Thank you.
