Great grilled beef This is a top-notch bbq place. The meat is fresh and the vegetables are not overcooked. We particularly like the happy-hour when I can make it in time.
awesome for carnivores I love this place. I also go to the one on Wilshire. Went to a birthday party there last week with a large group and it was great. We spent a fortune on food and booze, but it was worth it. If you're a carnivore, this place is for you. Gyu-Kaku I love this place! I usually try to go during Happy Hour because everything is so cheap! Sometimes it gets really busy so the service is slow. But you can never go wrong with Gyu-kaku! I love to start with the tofu salad, then get every type of meat LOL and drink the yummy shochu cocktails. I recommend making reservations if you plan to go during happy hour. Otherwise you'll be waiting for a good hour.
Fun and deliscious Gyu-Kaku is a different kind of restaurant, where you can kiss the cook (if you are dining with your spouse) because you cook your own food over a table top grill, so you can have it just like you like it. They give you a lot of flavorful marinades to perfect your meal. the prices are good, probably because they don't have to pay a chef (ha-ha)
Fun place to eat This is a great place to eat. I loved the atmosphere and the food was very good. This is a great place for a first date since it gives you something to do so it is not so awkward. They even had some great desserts like smores.
I love this place!!! The atmosphere is clean, warm, and classy. I love that you can grill your own meat and the variety and amount of food you get! You have the choice of making your order unlimited sushi, salad, and meat!! The greatest deal around! I would recommend them to anyone who likes Japanese food (bbq, sushi, salad and more!)
...there are better places. Gyu-kaku is not that great. They are much too over priced for what is served, portion and quality wise. It's not like the meat is horrible... it's just mediocre. However the service, I must admit, is pretty good.

Gyu-Kaku I went to Gyu-Kaku for the first time last week for my brothers b-day! It was definitely something new for us. The menu is confusing but our waiter Jack was really helpful and explained what the popular dishes are and suggested different items to feed our group of 6 people.
