Great service and German food! The apple strudel is to die for.
I do love German food! I had the Jager SchnitzelI, the sauce with mushrooms and onions was made nicely, along with the red cabbage. The staff and the environment was welcoming, and gave the warm family feeling that we all love.. Furthermore my husband had the porterhouse steak which is few and in-between to find in regular local places. I must say it was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Gus's food is definitely worth eating again. Kudos to a place that has been around since 1934!
I do love German food, I just so happened to try another new one in greenwood lake the day before..(dissapointed) what I loved is the pork was made tendered thicker.. the sauce with mushrooms and onions was made nicely, along with the red cabbage. The staff and employee environment was welcoming, and gave the warm family feeling that we all love.. the only thing I could say is that the Spaetzle was flavorless.. it was just there.. granted if you added it to your bite of anything else it was ok.
