My parents reside in Gull Creek. The kitchen and nursing are understaffed. The meals are inedible at times. Most other times the portions are so small that the residents are still left hungry. Meals are not well balanced with little or no vegetables given. You fill out a meal plan for the week and still don’t get what you asked for. Hot dogs and hamburgers are sometimes the only thing offered for both lunch and dinner. Updating my review for Gull Creek. After two years at Gull Creek and several management changes, the food at Gull Creek has taken a big hit. Meals seem to be plated well in advance and frequently arrive to the table cold or room temperature. The meals, once decent, now are similar to institutional cafeteria food. Mushy vegetables, cheap quality entrees, repetitively served. Snacks are also poor quality packaged carbohydrates. Cleaning and maintenance in some apartments is haphazard - ranging from acceptable to awful.

My mother was accepted into the Gull Creek Valeo memory care unit and was transported to Gull Creek, by their medical staff, from a psychiatric hospital in Delaware. She had Alzheimer's with Behavioral Disturbance. Shockingly, Gull Creek, less than a month later, accepted newly-executed DPOA documents, via fax, from a local attorney. Gull Creek then told me, the original DPOA Agent, that "legal matters need to be sorted out in the appropriate setting". Management in Illinois wrote that on my Google review for Gull Creek. Today is the last day for early voting. We will be at Gull Creek Senior Living Community, 1 Meadow St, Berlin, until 8 pm. Come out and vote! And props to Gull Creek for hosting us this past week. You have been awesome opening up your home to us, letting candidates plaster your lawn with signs, and feeding us awesome lunches lovingly prepared by your staff. You guys rock!!

I worked at Gull Creek for almost 8 years and loved it! Not only the staff, but the residents as well! If I could have moved my Mom to MD from NJ, she'd be in Gull Creek. These people really really care about the residents, and many many relationships form between staff and residents! Wonderful, fantastic community! Miss them...
