Catherine McDermott of Gulfside Behavioral Care is a miracle worker who I wish I found years earlier. Her care of my mother has made it possible to keep my mother home (with family caregivers) rather than having to admit her to a nursing home. Catherine McDermott changed the last few years of my mother in law’s life . She took the time to analyze her medications, got to know my mother in law, and treated her with the utmost professionalism and caring that we could have ever asked for... dementia is a terrible way to end a life but Dr McDermott made it so much more bearable!
Catherine was invaluable to our family during the progression of my grandfather’s dementia and ultimate death. She helped to navigate devastating family drama (above & beyond her call of duty), manage my grandfather’s medication appropriately, routinely visited to make sure the facility he was in was taking proper care of him, and has been a tremendous support to us after his recent passing. I can not say enough good things about this practice and her dedication & compassion for not only her patients, but their families too.
Catherine was wonderful in handling the patient, communicating her assessment to me, advising me, and follow up.
