I have dedicated 15 years to advocacy work, gaining extensive experience dealing with Harris and Fort Bend County, as well as The Gulf Coast Center serving Brazoria and Galveston. It is clear that the agency DOSE NOT offers a range of services to individuals who meet the criteria for intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), as they claimed on their website. Called to get assistance and the lady a spoke to told me that she could not help me because is was not in the county. I’m in Webster Texas and the place is in League City Texas. I asked the lady does she know of a number that I can call to get assistance with my mental. She continued to tell me that she could not assist me because I was not in the county. What bothered me was she had no concern that I was trying to get help. Do people really just not care anymore. What kind of world are we living in??
