Last year (2023-2024) I was a pregnant CO at Lehigh County Jail. I was experiencing symptoms of preeclampsia. Nobody listened to me, they’d give me pain meds and blood pressure meds and send me back to work. On 1/26/24 I was sent out by Nurse Beth (the former D.O.N at the jail… an amazing human being!!) for an extremely high blood pressure… I got to cedar crest and again, nobody would listen… low and behold in walks Dr. DeLaVega… he heard me out, he listened to my husband… he saved me and my baby!
I recently had a highly disappointing experience at Dr. De La Vega's office. After driving an hour and a half for my appointment, I called ahead to inform them that I would be seven minutes late due to traffic. They assured me it would be okay and even put a note in the system. However, upon arrival, I was told that Dr. De La Vega would not see me because I was late.
