I visited this salon a few minutes ago, and it was honestly the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hair salon. I’m extremely upset and confused by how I was treated.After waiting a month for my consultation, it was changed twice. Then, on the day of my appointment, I received a message asking if I wanted to reschedule — and only then was I told that the stylist I had booked with would be going on maternity leave. I had a hair consultation today, and unfortunately, my experience was not positive. I did not feel welcomed as a regular client, the reception felt quite cold, and the overall atmosphere was uncomfortable. I left feeling like I was not valued as a client. I also found the pricing for the services to be quite high and not clearly fair. I left Jared’s chair with exactly what I asked for and felt so much more confident and myself. He made me feel listened to and made sure I was comfortable with every step. He thoroughly explained the what and why of each step, even giving me tips for at home. Jared is extremely passionate and educated in the field. I will be booking in again with him.

Update 2025: I had a very disappointing experience at Guide Salon in January 2025 with Abby. All I requested was a simple trim — about 10 cm straight from the bottom of my hair. The entire service, including a quick blow dry, took maybe 15 minutes. During this short time, the stylist repeatedly commented (in a harsh tone) that my hair was “too much” or “too thick.” I wasn’t sure what she expected me to do about it — it felt unprofessional and made me uncomfortable, as if she was annoyed by my hair or suggesting I should pay ... read more

My second haircut here with Jared is honestly the best 'long' (relatively speaking) haircut I've ever had. I went from feeling like a stranger in my own skin to looking rad as hell every day with very little effort on my part. Great location, lovely staff.
