I am beyond disappointed and angry with the service department at Guelph Hyundai. What happened to me feels completely dishonest and, frankly, criminal. I brought my vehicle in and was charged a diagnostic fee. After that, I was given a huge repair estimate for an issue that was actually covered under an active Hyundai service campaign. At no point did anyone tell me that my vehicle qualified for this campaign or that the repair should have been completed at no cost. I’m noticing a lot of other people complaining about unprofessional service department, and I notice no replies or attention to these very bad reviews. I brought my wife’s car in for service as something is clearly wrong with the computer or sensors. They found one part that was corroded and needed replacing, and that the backup camera was throwing an error. Asked if we wanted to replace the backup camera for $600 or so, which was a hard no. Terrible service center. Super pushy on trying to upsell you on everything. This past weekend I had booked a tire change over a month in advance, only to have it cancelled by them 2 days before the booked date with no explanation. Way better options for service anywhere else. Garbage like this is why I'm not going to be buying a Hyundai vehicle going forward.
I bought my 2018 hyundai elantra gt sport new and have loved it. I kept up on the service religiously. The service has been great up until my last visit January 2nd to 6th. First of all, I requested a loaner car (first time in 7 years) and they never got back to me even after I left a message to follow up. I was told that besides the repairs that I was there for that I would also need a new battery as mine would not take a charge. I declined.
