Not worth the wait – Like one of the previous posters, I experienced excruciatingly slow service when they weren't that busy. The food was okay, but not worth waiting for when there weren't that many other customers. The waitress never did ask me if I wanted something to drink. And I had to ask for the check 3 times. I haven't tried any of the other restaurants in this neighborhood, but surely there must be better experiences than this.

A complete disappointment – Visited on a slow Tuesday night. The experience was a complete disappointment. Was seated at our table and took 15-minutes to be offered drinks. After waiting another 30-minutes for the remainder of our party to be offered drinks -- not even offered a menu -- we left. As we left -- to go to a nearby restaurant -- the parking attendant informed us we needed to move our cars or they'd be towed. One of my worst dining experiences -- ever. Fortunately, the OTHER restaurant was GREAT.

Timeless food and a window seat overlooking a Little Italy street – The Food While strolling the newly cosmopolitanized Italian neighborhood around Murray Hill, you could troll the high-gloss newcomers that have sprung up recently on this timeless block. Or you could settle back at Guarino's and taste the food and hospitality. Rolled steak stuffed with cheese, veal topped with prosciutto and the rest of the menu are all Southern Italian classics. The Scene Spread out over several Victorian drawing rooms, this former private ... read more

"Fabulous" it was the BEST experience that I've had in years :) The Food is Scrumptious! You'll feel like your in Italy. The atmosphere is very quaint. The owner, family and staff will make sure your experience is out of this world! Overall rating.... "OUTSTANDING!"

Never again – This place was a real disappointment. I grew up in the neighborhood, and the sause was NOT Italian. Very common. Pathetic little salad. No dessert as they had "run out." College kid servers who were as Italian as Eisenhower. Let us hope that Mama Santa's retains the old flavors and food.

Great Comfort – I went through my search for best Italian restaurants and tried all the places I had been given recommendations for... however I always seemed to find myself returning to Guarino's. I liked the atmosphere, and the owner and her son were very friendly and always make sure your needs are tended to. They have romantic spots and room for parties. It is comfort and taste that appeal to me. *whispering* Be careful of mamma's table lamps!

UGH!! – Guarino's has to be THE worst Italian food I've ever had!! I have yet to have a good meal there. This place really does Italian cuisine a severe disservice. Never again.

Not so spicy meatballs – This restaurant is one of the few open in Little Italy on a Sunday at noon and if that is when you are there it is OK, otherwise, skip it. The gnocchis were pre-packaged and the cheese comes in shakers. The spaghetti with meatballs was average at best. It is not cheap and there are plenty of better options nearby.
