I am so sad that I can't recommend this service. I want, so, so much, to like Gtek. Besides ongoing "speed" issues, or even "reliability" issues, we frequently aren't able to access ordinary websites. Back when my mother paid for it, I phoned Gtek more than once to ask why I couldn't access certain major websites like Tumblr -- I had to access those sites through "proxy server" services, as if I straight-up lived in China -- and I was always always told I was "mistaken," that the ISP had no proxy problems. I've been a customer for 3 years. I'm always having problems with my Internet working. When I call they can't explain why and say they will send a tech but i will have to pay for it.that's bad service rite there. I'm having trouble again, and. I will their Internet site is shut down and lines are busy.

I have been having problems with my internet being intermittent since August. I was able to call and get the problem resolved over the phone, but on September 2 they were not able to resolve the problem and opened a fix ticket for a repair man to show up on September 6. He did not show, but said I would be moved to the top of the service list for September 7. He called and said he would not make it September 7 and would move me to the top for September 9. This is the worst internet service provider I have ever dealt with. They say that they don't throttle your speeds back but every night/morning around 2-3 A.M our download speeds that should be 6mbps and upload speeds should be 1mbps get throttled back every night as bad as download speeds being .5mbps and upload speeds at .8mbps. I have used this service for over 3 years. I highly recommend if you desire a faster Internet experience. Friendly service personnel and when problems occur they are resolved quickly. Where I live it is the Best.

Don't bother! I've used their wifi service several times over the last 3 years, every time I visit Aransas Pass for months at a time. The speed and connectivity gets worse every year. Can't keep a connection. I've done several speed test and they go from download speeds from 0 (cannot complete) to 105. Upload speeds from 0 to 12. Most common number is 0, cannot complete. My phone is faster and I DON'T have 4G. Yesterday I actually had to use my phone as a hotspot to get something done on the computer as their service couldn'... read more
