With legends like Frank Sinatra and Robert De Niro having frequented this place, Grotta has always been one of the most popular Italian restaurants in the neighborhood. The 'Blue Grotto' disappeared for six years since its opening over a century ago, however it reopened with renewed vigor again to much fanfare. The multi-level eatery still retains some historic features like the marble and mosaic floors; and its vintage mahogany bar and wine cave stack about 1,600 bottles.

RecommendedWe had planned for weeks on where we wanted to eat in Little Italy. After our dinner at Grotta Azzurra tonight I know without a doubt we made the best decision. The Zappa di clams in red sauce is the best ever. And I thought I loved their white sauce. Get either or or both with their garlic bread.
