Amazing service and the needle never hurts~!
Very disappointing experience. I came to donate plasma with my boyfriend, and he spoke to the staff first while I was standing beside him. Without even speaking to me directly or checking my level of English, they decided that my English was not good enough and refused me. I understand that donors must be able to understand medical questions and instructions, but I was never given the opportunity to answer for myself or demonstrate my understanding. This aweful experience was new to me; never before have I been discriminated against for taking adhd meds, antidepressants (been taking for more than 20 years) and the occasional prescription sleep aid. I have donated in the past while being on the same meds with no issues until today. No where in the prohibted med list or screening does this come up yet according to the nurse who interviewed me this is a "new" policy with Health Canada to disqualify anyone taking 3 or more "mental health medications". The wait time are ridiculous now. What's the point of making an appointment if your waiting up to an hour and a half to get in.. This needs to change
