Great company, it’s a shame people didn’t understand how they worked and used them as a scapegoat. They only made $10 a month from you, and passed along the wholesale rate as set by Texas. During the storm, the price spike was due to poor planning by the Texas government. Griddy, by design, still passed along that wholesale rate. You may have paid $2000, but Griddy still only made $10. If you got hit by a huge bill, blame the people running the state, and allowing the wholesale price to get that high by running an outdated p... read more

This service lets me optimize my energy use during times when energy prices are low. People need to do their research, power prices swing up and down.

If Griddy ever comes back, I would sign up again in a heartbeat. You have to actively manage your usage with the app. If you do and there isn't a once in a lifetime storm, you can save a lot of money. My average bill with Griddy in 2020 was $209.65 at nearly 2700 KWH per month. That's less than 8 cents per KWH. In 2021, I averaged $317.63 per month on virtually the same overall usage. The outrageous charges in February of 2021 were the direct result of failures in the Texas power providers (a.k.a. the grid). Blame the infras... read more
