Said I didn’t qualify for anything surgical. I sought another opinion and was told there was a rare impingement (on the same MRI he saw btw) and because it was missed and I waited too long between my other opinion the impingement tore my labrum and there was also another impingement found. Next time look at the full picture not just a specific area.

I have suffered from repeated “bucket handle” meniscus tears in my knee, but had to just live with it, as no orthopedic specialist I had seen before, could figure it out. The last time it happened though, I went to Mr sawyer. Even before getting an MRI, it only took him a minute to know what was wrong with my knee. Very knowledgeable and experienced. He did the surgery on my knee to repair the bucket handle tear permanently so that it would stop ripping off the bone repeatedly. There was zero issues with the surgery or recove... read more

Came here for a second opinion and explained the history of my hip pain and as soon as I said I’m hypermobile it was done he had already made up in his mind that there was nothing that could he could do” you’re just hypermobile I would suggest reaching out to your pcp and seeing about prescription muscle relaxers and NSAIDs” oh you mean the stuff that I’m already doing that’s in the very medical chart? It’s not normal for a hip to keep catching and be in pain! I would have felt better if he said it appears to be a hypermobil... read more

I met Dr. Sawyer for a second opinion for my knee pain. He was genuinely concerned and spent a good deal of time examining me and reviewing my X-ray and MRI with me. He discussed 2 options with me in detail. He was very patient and understanding. I was so impressed with his bedside manner and knowledge.

After seeing a Dr who said my knee pain & locking was too hard to figure out & that I'd have to live with it and several Dr's not able to find anything on an MRI, Dr Sawyer saw something and scheduled me for arthroscopy. He removed 3 loose bodies from my knee and fixed the pain I'd been living with for over a year. Not only that but as I'm walking to my car after an office visit in the snow, he runs out, gets my car, drives it to me, and brushes the snow off the car! How many Dr's would do that?
