I have been a patient here for quite a while I have always found the office efficient and the staff is very courteous. There is little wait time end making a follow-up appointment takes very long time.
One of the secures of aging well is being able to keep active. Dr Smith has been a valuable partner in that process. My wife and I have been seeing Dr Smith for over 10 years. Over the years he has treated sore wrist and fingers, 1 finger surgery and 2 shoulder surgeries. His referrals for other procedures that he doesn't do have been spot on. He always spend enough time to explain what we need to know. He also is good a hiring staff as everyone in the office has always been pleasant and knowledgeable.
Unfortunately, I had to give him a star to post a review. This Dr. Either needs to retire, or is just lacking in the compassion and empathy department. From the minute you walk through the door until you check out, it's like an assembly line. Dr. Smith did not do a physical assessment. When I tried to say anything, it was like I was wasting his time. First appointment was in and out. He ordered an mri. My follow up to that was even worse. He tried to tell me my shoulders were fine. I took my husband who has Alzheimer’s Dementia there with a shoulder injury. He didn’t examine him, allow us to ask questions or even make eye contact with us. He ushered us out of the room after about a minute and told us to have the front desk make an MRI appointment. When I received office visit notes it said he throughly examined him and answered all questions presented to him by us. He absolutely did not! He disrespected me and more importantly my husband and that’s not OK.
I had an injury 3 weeks ago in Orlando and had to search for a near by Orthopedic surgeon for continuity of care. Medical record were sent to Dr. Smith and he denied service. I asked for a reason and no reason was provided. It is so sad that it is the only place in Fernandina Beach that can provide service and I was unable to get care near home. Good luck to anyone that is going through a rough process 🙏 like me and needs the care close to home.
