I worked with Dr. Poland in the early 80's at Abbott/Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis alongside Dr. Kathryn Love and Dr. C. Gerald Schrock. I was the Epidemiology Assistant. I conducted surveillance throughout the hospital, prepared reports, isolated patients, assisted with exposures, produced and periodically updated Abbott's Infection Control Manual, and procured and previewed any published relevant research materials regarding emerging infectious diseases.
