Hotel is in a shady spot no elevator 1 ice machine and 1 housekeeper We were supposed to check in at 4 got there and we were told we couldn’t check in tell 5 but we could cancel if we found somewhere else so that’s what we did. We told them we found somewhere else and I asked multiple times if we would be charged for the stay. Of course we were STILL charged. Our room shows its age (light bulbs burned out, lamp broken) and wasn’t set up correctly (sheets and blankets were in wrong order, hand towels missing, only one wash cloth). Nothing too bad; just seemed unkempt. We remade the bed and had a good quiet sleep.
Our room was hanging in 1/4” of dust on the fan, AC, most surfaces and it was covered in pet hair and human hair. There were food crumbs on the floor, stained linens, live ants in the towels and trash strewn down the hallways, pool room and parking lot. The pool was very dirty and had scorpions in it. The hot tub was also very cloudy. There was a hose to trip on beneath the exit door. Would not recommend staying here. It appears they are very short staffed. We Checked in the night of our stay and were given keys to a room that had never been cleaned after the prior guest had left. Very disappointed in the entire experience!!! We were courteously told by staff that it was fine for us to leave and check for another hotel. We did and ended up with a better experience at another local hotel. It was not how we wanted to start our vacation though dealing with a stressful experience from the start.
