Excellent barbecue without the crowds. The brisket and sausage were both very tasty. Mostly locals eating here.

Stepping into to eat hear made me feel like I was visiting Austin again for the first time. I don't know how (as a local of 20 years) I hadn't eaten here yet. Perfect blend of that Old Austin, Texas feel with the outdated decor (that's a compliment) and yet you could still hear live music going whenever the backdoor opened. The food was Southern, was it perfect breaded chicken fried steak? Who knows, it tasted to good to care! 10/10 Would recommend. Will be back.
I gotta admit, I like the atmosphere more than the food. I got the pork ribs and thought they were lackluster. What is there to say about fried okra? The coleslaw was not as creamy as I like. The waitresses were kind but seemed short staffed. It's definitely a great place to see quality local talent. Everyone in the place was super friendly. The pick-up for takeout food was non stop, so what do I know.
