We were here to see/listen to Dickie Lee Erwin, always a fun show. The chicken fried steak & catfish were good.
I haven't been so disappointed in the meal in this town. I'm a big fanatic for Chicken Fried Steak, so went ahead and picked that for my meal. Though the service was great, the staff nice, and the ambience very good, the meal was mediocre at best. The portions are absolutely ridiculous for the price. Puny piece of meat, bland, tasteless gravy(with barely enough to cover the patty), a tiny, quarter cup saucer of over cooked fries, no Texas Toast(!), barely passable Cole slaw, and for $16.00? Finally made it here and sad that it took me so long bec it was some great home cookin’. Everything was just right, not over seasoned or overly fancy… just some great food. The chicken fried chicken, catfish platter and sides (green beans, mac n cheese, jambalaya and fried okra) were delicious. We arrived 30 mins before closing so we just sat inside. Place was clean and had a nice, cozy ambiance. Glad this place is still around and was saved some years ago from shutting down. Will return to try some actual bbq in the future.
