Traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway and a nice bartender told us about the little town of Floyd. GMI was the only vacancy in town, but they required 2 night stay. We did it thinking if we loved it we’d stay an extra night. We were up and gone by 8am. The most uncomfortable bed we’ve ever slept in. No heat on when we got there. Figured out the fake fireplace emitted heat. No toilet tissue. No coffee. $300 to have a miserable night.
