Among the myriad tastes and aromas of Chinatown in Seattle, one can find a small eating place called Green Leaf, offering Vietnamese cuisine to more people than it can possibly seat. Word-of-mouth publicity is what brings new patrons here and the mouth-watering fare is what brings old patrons back again. Seafood, meat, vegetables and soups in the distinct Vietnamese culinary tradition are on offer. Prices are reasonable and portions sizable. It is advisable to reach early to get seats in time.

All the Vietnamese "mommy" food that you crave... – It's really sad that whenever I want Vietnamese food at a restaurant all that's available is "pho". Sometimes I want all those other dishes that I miss so very much - aka mommy's cooking. The best thing about this place is that if you're Vietnamese, Green Leaf has all those dishes that you wish all those other places have. They have "bun rieu" and will even give you "mam ruoc'! They have "banh xeo" (which was a little too many bean sprouts..but it's better than nothing). :)... read more
So Good!!!!!!!! – I love this restaurant-the food is cheap, the servers are always really helpful, and even though I have been here many times and tried many different things, the food is always fresh, flavorful, and clean (you don't get that bloated, "why did I eat that?!?!" feeling you sometimes get with Chinese food). I love anything involving the vermicelli noodles (the fake shrimp is good on the vegetarian option) and the lemongrass chicken is good as well. If you haven't tried it, you should definitely make a trip to t... read more
Wow!!! Wonderful and friendly – As the Stranger said in their review, you almost don't want to tell people about this place...it's that good. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and have pride in every detail of the place, from the tea mugs to the wine glasses. They are very helpful in selecting your dishes, and the food is just wonderful. The Lemongrass chicken had some definite kick to it, and the Vietnamese omlette/crepe is not to be missed. Great place, I'll be back!
Enjoyable spot – The food here is good. the service friendly and even more impressive is that all this at a reasonable price. I like the dishes I had that came with the seven courses of beef. All were great and tasty. The owner's wife even stop by to chat and help everyone feel more at home and relaxed. I enjoyed the reasonable price of wine. I'll be back.
good Vietnamese dining in Chinatown – I like the size of the place, the quality of the food, the selection, and yes...the sisters that work there are friendly and "dep gai".
Absolutely Delicious – It does get packed around dinner time. I had the bun bo hue, fried rice cakes and the tamarind soda. Everything was very good. I even ordered the shrimp papaya salad and tamarind dungeness crab to go. The service is outstanding.
Nice little gem – I was pleasantly surprised by this delightful little find. I am Vietnamese and this is good Vietnamese food. The dishes were well prepared with the correct ingredients and accompaniments. The service friendly, including the owners wife and sisters whom are very nice looking. The seating is a little tight and the place is small so plan on coming a little earlier to wait as the word is getting around that this place is better than Tamarind tree and cheaper. I also like the cleanliness. Did I mention the siste... read more
Yummy Tofu – Green leaf is delicious yet inexpensive and has very fresh ingredients. The bahn xeo was crispy on the outside, moist on the inside and filled with been sprouts. I think they have the best tofu in town - You can really taste the grilled flavor. The atmosphere is very laid back and the servers are very friendly.
Very friendly & good food – Had the Seven Courses Beef for two. Couldn't finish it - it could have been dinner for 3. As most Vietnamese restaraunts, very inexpensive. The service was friendly and attentive. Our waitress showed us how to assemble the rice paper and beef. Yummy lemonade. I recommend it and I'll go back.
