I had an overall positive experience with this office, the Fairfax location, during my pregnancy. I was referred due to gestational diabetes. The office staff was always pleasant with me. The sonographer/ technician were different each time. Understanding that there are things they cannot say without meeting with the doctor first, I had an overall good experience with most of them as well. I had a wonderful experience at Greater Washington Maternal-Fetal Medicine with Dr. Hauraa. She is very knowledgeable, professional, and compassionate. She explained everything clearly, answered all of our questions with patience, and made us feel very comfortable throughout the visit. The staff was also friendly and supportive, and the clinic was well-organized. I truly appreciate the excellent care provided and highly recommend Dr. Hauraa and her team.
When calling to make an appointment at this facility or to reschedule, the receptionist keeps you on hold for 15-20 mins. They never call you back after leaving a voicemail either. When entering the office, the receptionist never smiles or has a welcoming demeanor. I’ve had an ultrasound at this facility with 3 different doctors. They’ve changed since my last pregnancy. I came in at 13 weeks, high risk again and referred for an ultrasound. Ultrasound was 30 minutes and the guy who was doing it didn’t say a word to me except to tell me when to turn over. He didn’t show me anything or explain anything to me. What’s the point of the big screen then? I don’t know what I’m seeing on my own! Now they make you PAY EXTRA for photos! This place ask you to PAY to receive the baby picture coming out of the ultrasound. It’s absolutely not acceptable to ask patient to pay for something the practice should be covering, which is the result of an EXAM. Plus, this is part of being a parent and excited about the upcoming newborn. They disregard the patients needs and prioritized the costs,which should already be covered by the fee they charge for an ultrasound. Just go to another place for ultrasound!
