Dr. Spencer was going to fuse a vertebrae in my wife's lower back. He worked on her middle back and ruined her for life. UofM is trying to remove all the medal he put there ,so she can walk again. Don't let him work on you.
Please stop and read this. If all doctors advocated for their patients the way that at Dr Spencer does, healthcare would be vastly better across our country. Dr. Spencer is the ONLY doc that was willing to investigate my symptoms and complaints that were quickly dismissed by OTHER neurosurgeons. After imaging (MRI and CT) the cause was found. Dr Timothy Eugine Spencer Jr was put on medical probation on July 7 2018 and unable to do surgery in the Mt Pleasant location and people have to travel to Marshall. He also speaks about doing pills and alcohol before surgery to calm his nerves. This man should not have a license and I would get a second opinion.
Last appointment today ,good doctor. He can just be kind of rude at times.
Update _ 9-2-25_ Had 3rd surgery 3-18-25 fractures above and below fusion. During his workup he also discovered an autoimmune disease (AS) and I'm now fused C4-T1 and recovering well. __ Dr. Spencer saved my life at 43! My story is anything but short and easy! After being misdiagnosed with pretty much a broken neck for a 1yr and half with a very well known local hospital/surgeon.
