BEWARE OF JUDY JONES!!! We used Judy Jones of The Realty Store and Great Smoky Investments to manage our rental properties. Rents and monthly statements were paid late or not at all. After numerous management issues, we cancelled our contract and sued. We won and were awarded a judgment. It has been over a year now and we are still waiting for payment of the security deposits that were supposed to be held in a separate escrow account per TN law.
Security Deposits: It is a really travesty that people are not required to put their real names and contact information on this web site. If they were a proper and concise response could be entered to address the "Truth" about the person's occupancy. All security deposits are returned in a timely manner when I am the one holding the security deposit. Cindy- Judy has lost her real estate license, so legally your contract is null and void. You need to file a complaint with the local district attorney because she is practicing real estate without a license and is defrauding people like you. If you sue her and win, chances are you will never see the money.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! Judy Jones - also uses various names - the rave reviews you see here ARE JUDY.....She is a LIAR a thief and a FRAUD!!!! She LOST her REAL- ESTATE LICENSE - due to stealing money from people -She does not even PAY HER EMPLOYEES-- that is why she does not have a Proper Maintenance man, she will not ever no matter if you spit- shine house give your deposit back. One star is too high, it should be nothing. Found out that mean lady who runs the place lost her real estate license in November 2012. So it turns out if she's your landlord still; she's breaking the law. Not that it matters to her, but puts her and your money out of the state's hands. She won't think twice of lying to you about your money, stealing your security deposit, and not answering your calls. If you're lucky enough to speak to her on the phone, you'll wish you had just given up, never met anyone so mean to the core.... read more
I had to sell my house 6 years ago . I was worried about renting because I heard horror stories about bad landlords . I've been a renter of Great Smoky Investments and Judy Jones for over 6 years. They have always treated me with respect and dignity . They have always fixed any problem I had quickly . I would highly recommend the to friends and family . Judy Jones and her company get 5 stars from me ! I couldn't of ask for a better Landlord . Thanks for always being there for me and my family !
Followed their checklist. Never got my deposit back. They dodge all my phone calls. Terrible customer service. Have no explanation.
To start, we moved in on the 13th of the month and our rent was not prorated. So, they had an extra 2 weeks to get the place ready before we moved in. Once we got there we noticed that more than half the window screens were missing, one of the tubs leaked, the other tub's shower head was missing, neither tubs had shower rods, one toilet didnt flush right, and they "couldn't find" the garage door opener.
