About this business
The Bar & Banquet Room are still a part of the original structure built on this site in 1889. The Bar is original and was hand carved by the Chicago Bar Company. The building was originally at street level. There were swinging doors leading out onto a dirt road with hitching posts for horses (Irving Park Road).

Visit soon! visited on a business trip in July 07 Great atmosphere, view the ceiling in the bar, it's fabulous! Waitresses were friendly, food was great! Ribs and Broasted chicken is my recommmendation! Enjoyed it!
COCKROACH – Not much more to say than "cockroaches" in the bathroom! I didn't even finish my meal. Gross!!!!
Great Place – Food is excellent! We have several parties there and staff was attentive and food was superb. I hear fish dishes are outstanding. Hope they stick around
Excellent and original Italian/American entrees – We came here with one of our social groups. The food, from appetizers to dessert, was plentiful and superb. I would recommend it highly. We're returning!

Poor Service!!!!! – Be careful. We heard that the food was very good. Only one problem............food never came. We waited over 40 min for our food. Both tables around us (which arrived after us) got their food (some of the same items). During this time we NEVER got a refill on our water, nor even asked if we wanted another drink, which by now were empty. When we asked about our food, the waiter said "I'll check". Great Atmosphere – I was in town on business and got to stop by what was said to be Al Capones old stomping ground. It is a great little restaurant with great atmosphere. The GirlAudio Productions crew will be sure to stop at The Great Escape when we are in town!
