During my study abroad in Cairns, I went scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef during my breaks from studying. Certified divers can prepare their own gear and dive at a lower cost. Since the oxygen tank felt heavy for me, I opted for an introductory dive but was still able to go deeper alongside certified divers. Playing with bubble rings 🫧 was so much fun, and the friendly staff took plenty of underwater photos for us. It truly is a wonderful and welcoming place!
This might have been the best thing I’ve done in my whole Australia trip! I’ve been on the Reef Encounter for completing my SSI Open Water Diver. I had done the theory upfront on the SSI App, so inly the practice was done here. Especially if you only have limited time, you don’t want to spend it on sitting in a classroom. In difference to most other Scuba schools, you have no pool sessions, all the training is done just at the beautiful Great Barrier Reef.
