GetYourGuideの方からシュノーケルを申し込みました。グリーン島のスタッフから海亀が見られるという話も聞き、実際には4匹ほど見ることができました。浅めのところにもいたみたいですが、私はライフジャケットを現地で借りて少し深めのところで、海亀とは出会えました。様々な種類の魚や虹色の魚まで、ただただ癒されました。 朝８時くらいの船で帰りは14時半頃でしたが、自分の体力も加味し昼食も途中入れると、時間帯はちょうどよかったです。帰る頃には干潮で奥まで歩いている人や深かったところも浅くなっているので、もう一つ後の帰りの便でも、また違う面白さや発見があるかもしれません。

Today we did a half-day excursion to Green Island, with the addition of a glass-bottomed boat visit to see the reef. All aspects of this excursion were handled efficiently, from booking to cruising, to returning back to Cairns. All the staff were polite and helpful. The glass-bottomed boat experience was awesome and it had been in my bucket list for years. Well done to the whole team!

Let me be clear, the reef experience was fine, generally. Green island reefs are completely destroyed from human causes, with idiots walking all over the sea grass and corals which are trying to survive destroying them. you won't see much, but you'll see a bit, and it's a lovely beach, and it's not terribly expensive, all things considered, especially if you're a local (I am). We had the BEST time with Great Adventures visiting GI and the GBR! We bought our tickets online and checked in at the terminal the morning of seamlessly before boarding the boat for a day full of adventures. We traveled with my 4 & 6 year old kiddos. The crew was SO nice and ensured the entire day ran smoothly. We felt so safe at the reef, even with our kids, with the lifeguards and designated swimming area.
