The ER saved my child and me during severe asthma attacks. They have great nurses and doctors in the ER, acute care, and the clinic.
This is a redo. A few years ago I had about the worst experience you could have in an er at this one. The last 2 trips have been so completely different I feel like they have earned 5 stars from me now. I am not a fan of the branch in parachute and I do not like the front desk lady at the urgent care/after hours clinic but the emergency room staff, from the front door to the nurse that walks you out is top tier. Being an inpatient opened my eyes. There is a very obvious poor communication between nurses regarding patients and their needs. The night staff and the day staff didn’t share specific information that could have led to an emergency had I not spoken up. As well one nurse did not wear gloves when attending with me while I’m neutropenic unless there were other physicians around. Always wear gloves no matter what. This is in regards to the finance department. I was receiving Medicare and Medicaid the first of last year and my medicaid was canceled because of my age and no one told me this. I didn't even receive an explanation of my benefits so I assumed my bills were being paid. I never received a bill or phone call from Grand River health that I owed them anything. Unprofessional nurses! Called our hospital wanting information on a patient but refused to give us any information that would help them get what they needed! Chewed gum while on the phone (gross) and mad at my people for not being psychic enough to know who they needed!.
