I scheduled an appointment with this dental office specifically for a regular cleaning. When I made the appointment, I was clearly told that no X-ray would be required. Based on that information, I took time off from work to attend. However, once I arrived, the dentist insisted that I must have an X-ray done before receiving any cleaning, even though I had X-rays taken only six months ago. We just moved to the area and needed a new dentist. I was able to get in for a cleaning fairly quickly (but I think that was just luck because it was near the holidays). Everyone was nice. Dr. Lee did my cleaning and was very thorough. I am very anxious at going to the dentist and I was surprised that they use a bite block for cleaning (it holds the suction so only one person is needed to do the cleaning; and it is supposed to give your jaw a break while holding it open). After four visits, I am formally done with Grand Lake Dental and strongly advise others to look elsewhere. My decision is driven primarily by their highly questionable policy of refusing to accept recent, pre-paid X-rays from other offices, instead requiring them to be retaken here at an additional charge. This practice feels deliberately scammy and self-serving, forcing patients to incur unnecessary costs and radiation exposure. DO NOT EVER TELL this Dental Office you are having any surgery in the future! They will ask for a medical release which you might find out your Hospital does not provide. They will REFUSE to see you until you give them something you can NEVER get! My surgery on my knee was 18 months ago and they are refusing to give me a teeth cleaning until I get a medical release from a surgery they would not know about, had I not told them. This is ridiculous but apparently this place does not want my business.

I went here for x-rays and cleaning. The people are really nice, they explained all my issues and cleaned my teeth well. This is going to be my dentist moving forward.
