Wonderful getaway from the city. We have been going for 10 years now. The cottages are so well designed and equipped, with a fully stocked kitchen and a fireplace. There are board games we enjoy. Kangaroos roam freely and emus graze and comedically run across the meadow. Aidan is very responsive and offers eggs from the 4 friendly chicken that roam freely around. We always love staying here for weekend getaways.

We loved our stay in the stone cottage. It was our second stay. There were 8 of us, 2 families with 4 kids. We were comfortable with so many of us, it had a well stocked kitchen, and the wood fire was lovely. Only slight downside was that the one toilet in the bathroom was a bit of a struggle at times. The view and wildlife on your doorstep is wonderful, and it was such a relaxing stay. Really close to the amazing walking trails and into town if you need anything. Very nice but has a few things that need improvements. I'll list the pros and cons at the end. We stayed in the mudbrick cottage, it was very nice except the bathroom, fire place and upstairs bedroom. First, the bathroom floor is just tiles, there is no slip proofing and the floors when wet are very slippery. This includes inside the shower where I slipped several times. If tranquil & serene are words that conjure up images of a quiet & relaxing getaway, then I highly recommend Pioneer Cottages. We stayed in the Stone Cottage that has a loft bedroom which was a bit of a novelty. The only regret I had was we were too busy to light the open fire. I'll definitely be back to tick that one off. A beautiful location, well maintained property and lovely hosts.
