So finally, after almost 6 months of subpar, communication and subpar work, my basement is finally finished after paying in full. I was promised it would be done before Christmas of last year. This company refuses to fix the mistakes they made with my electrical. I will now have to hire a real electrician to address the issues. Also company failed to reimburse me for buying the doorhandles that they said they would pay for. I went to pick them up same day because they apparently couldn’t get them. First the good: We were able to get GR Construction to bid with a pretty good price and a promise of quick delivery. All the people I have talked with are also super nice people, no complaints there. Framing and sheetrock was done quickly and reasonably good. Everything started going downhill from there. They started showing up maybe once a week to get things done so schedule crept. They didn't make the walls correctly in the bathroom which caused the shower door to not fit (they didn't factor in the tile for the shower). Af... read more
The photos below are what you can expect when you pay around $60k and wait roughly 35 weeks. The timeframe given to me was about 10-14 weeks for a fully finished basement. The employees are nice for the most part, but eventually, contractors will stop showing up to work, and the GR rep will just stop showing up completely to make sure work is being done properly.
