I lived in Washington Heights for a little over a year and I didn’t have many problems. I had my doubts living in a pre-war building, but GP Properties made me feel at peace. Anything that happened (fridge was broken when I moved in, shower curtain rob breaking and accidental wall damage) the super was able to stop by within 24-48hrs and fix whatever. GP Properties run by Gideon Platt is the worst management company and real estate owner in NYC. Horrible people! Keep away!
EDIT: most of the below issues were eventually resolved by maintenance. But still took around a full month (for which I paid the full rent for) May seem appealing with no broker’s fee, but management is awful. Moved in to shower not hooked up. No hot water. Splintering wood floor. Paint all over the wood floor and doorknobs (no painters tape, did not cover floor). Painted over the peephole as well on on top of and INSIDE the breaker box?? This apartment building is infested with RATS. Be aware! There has been control of the rodent population. Unable to speak with property managers
