AWFUL SERVICE – If I could give zero stars I absolutely would. Pathetic, horrible bike shop. The service was an absolute joke, I waited around for 45 minutes, even attempting to flag people down, yet no one offered any help. Finally the one person who did offer to help appeared to know absolutely NOTHING about bikes, and I don't intend to be judgemental but...by the looks of the rest of the employees, overweight...I didn't imagine many of them rode bikes either. Not at all helpful, poor selection of bike accessories. Waste o... read more

Good Service and Good Prices – I've purchased a bike here and I've bought many accessories. I've also brought my old bike in for repairs and tune-ups. I never feel that the staff is ignoring me, they answer questions and are not pushy. I think all of the charges to repair have been relatively inexpensive for a nice manhattan bike shop. They have a large inventory of bikes so if you are looking to buy you should be able to find something here. If you need a shop for repairs in lower manhattan, this is a good one.

Good gear, good knowledge, how about some good manners? – Generally seem to be a very competent bike store, although my experience with them is limited. I will say though, that they can be very pushy on the sales. Stating that a pair of shoes or a jersey fits well, seems to be some kind of promise you are buying it. I do suspect they get more than their fair share of tire kickers however. But anyway, pushy sales is enough to keep me away and stick with my own LBS. But anyone looking for a good range of bikes or gear would do... read more

disapointed with recent service – Went in on 5/6day of 5 boro bike tour, to replace flat that another firm had given me a defective tire on. Rode on 5/10, and inner tube was coming out took it back to them and they did cursory fix. Was at Vessey and Chambers and the inner tube was coming out again. Spoke to same employee that something else might be worong, and golly gee wiz I needed a new rim. Well that almost fixed everything except that the tire they installed was larger than previous tires and I had red deflector that wa... read more

Why it's so hard to support your local bike shop – EXTREMLY RUDE SERVICE! I came in for the first time ready to buy cycling shoes and I knew what kind of shoes I wanted. All I had to do was get my size and try them on to make sure they fit. Easy sale, right? Well, the whole time the salesperson gave me the attitude like it was a real chore to deal with customers, especialy on a slow Sunday in January. When they didn't have my size and color I asked if they could check their sister shop Toga if they had them there.....again, ... read more

Bit of an attitude – These guys are good - if you're a pro. But for basic questions and to the uninitiated, they're not the most helpful, verging on rude. First time I went in the store, I got passed from guy to guy until I virtually had to beg someone for help. Second time, I wanted some replacement cleats for my shoes, they questioned me on my question 'Look don't make grey cleats' (err yes they do) then sold me the wrong ones. Not helpful, not pleasant.

Top bike store in NYC – Gotham Bikes (and their sister store Toga Bikes) are the best bicycle shops in NYC. They have a great selection, their staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and their customer service is unparalleled. I bought my bike at Toga, which comes with a lifetime basic maintenance service at no charge, and Gotham honors that service as well. From time to time, I bring my bike into both shops to get a little tweaking here and there (i.e. changing out pedals), and they usually do it for free. The staff ... read more

A big-city bike shop with small-town service. – The Scene While New York City may not be biker-friendly, this well-stocked shop is. A policy of lifetime tune-ups, along with a helpful attitude, keeps Gotham's customers coming back. Signed "thank you" pictures from racers decorate the walls, just behind racks of gleaming new bikes ranging from $220 to $5,000. The Goods From standard aluminum-frame models to fully accessorized mountain bikes, Gotham offers an impressive array of choices. In plain sight of Ground Zero, the stor... read more

Best Value and service by far – I've been to many bike shops but none have shown me more professionalism and service yet. The store is stocked up to the ceiling with cool stuff. The employees take their time with you. and If they're busy they told me multiple time they'll be right with me which makes me comfortable. My order came on time and the service was excellent. No one compares. Alot of shop in a little space in cozy Tribeca. I'll be back again.
