PLEASE READ BEFORE DOING BUSINESS WITH GOSSETT I do not normally write reviews, but I hope this will help some of you avoid the terrible, expensive and exhausting experience I’ve had with this company. I purchased a 2019 VW GTI from Gossett on 5/25/20. I drove all the way from St. Louis to Memphis to get it because I was not able to find that specific car (color, trim level, etc.) anywhere else. Paid these folks $700 and had to get my towed FROM the dealership. They had our car for 5 weeks. Called after two weeks and said it was ready. Paid the $700 bill, went to pick it up the next day and it wouldn’t start. Another three weeks and won’t start. Agreed to pay back almost$300, but no more. This is the dealership where the car was purchased. Will never trust this business again and will warn everyone against buying from them.
While we were negotiating the selling price, we agreed that there would be a maintenance package included in the sell of the vehicle. I did not realize until time for the oil change, that it was not in the paperwork. They would not honor the agreement made even though the salesman remembered. They would not agree to anything other than me driving 8 hours for an oil change and a tank of gas. They do not value their customers what so ever, nor do they train their salespeople or finance people to do their job.

terrible customer service - every time. last year, i took my car there to get some stuff fixed, they told me they would have a rental car for me waiting but they didn’t and didn’t make an effort to get one. today we took my car for a check-up after receiving a confirmation on the appointment date and time. after driving all the way out there, they said they are booked for the next few days and can’t take care of my car. both my husband and i are in the market for a new car. we certainly know where not to go.
NEVER take your car here. I will drive my VW 100 miles away before VW Gossett ever touches it again! I’ve lived in 2 other states and the dealerships have been great. I took my CC here for a recall in February and ever since I’ve had extreme problems with my car- $4,200 worth! Most recently they were supposed to replace my compressor. My wife went to have our 2015 Jetta’s oil changed and wipers replaced today at 1:15. After a 3.5 hour wait, they told her the delay was because they “had new people working”, then after another 30 min wait, the delay was apparently for a vacuuming/wash. Well, when she received the keys, the car was not vacuumed whatsoever. I called to speak to the sales guy myself, who told me “sorry it wasn’t up to your wife’s standards”.
