I lived at Good Sam/Daytona Beach for eight weeks and was treated very well. The manager, Melissa Long is first class and very caring, she works day and evenings to help the residents. She is on call 24/7. The administrator, Lisa Meyers, is priceless with such a professional and compassionate nature and is always available to listen with undivided attention. She addresses every concern with fairness and sympathy. The assisted living facility is very nice and the nurses are first class. Everyone is warm hearted and friendly t... read more
Please read before deciding as to where to send your loved one for care. My father was recently placed at White Acres as a temporary resident in order for him to receive physical therapy. My family and I were always with my father, day in and day out we would go visit him. During visitations we realized the poor treatment that the residents receive there. This is the facility that if your loved one will be going to, as family members, you will need to be on top of their care. The nurses in this facility are the definition of... read more
DISGUSTNG PLACE, HORRIBLE FOOD, SERVERS SPIT IN FOOD, ALL ABOUT POLITICS, NOT SMOKE FREE, WINDOWS WITHOUT LOCKS, NO A/C IN MANY UNITS. HIGH RENT.
A friend stayed here for short term rehab. She heard a man crying and whimpering each night, being ignored by the nurses. When she asked her nurse to go tend to him, nurse replied that he is dying and there's no point since there is nothing they can do. That is a horrible attitude towards the dying. The man did die in a couple of days. My friend saw uncaring attitudes towards others and she discharged herself back to home before her rehab was up. She absolutely hated the lack of compassion at White Acres.
My mother stayed here for some short term re-hab after her surgery. This place basically goes through the motions of helping you out; there is no accountablility. The social worker who oversees things is out of touch and makes up things along the way. I will never have another famil member stay here
My Dad exited the facility very weak, and walked down to the creek in attempt to take pills and end his life. My mom had left for 30 minutes to eat and found out about this attempt upon return only when she saw flashing lights of police and EMT and him be escorted out on a gurney. She did not receive a call to notify her in advance. As my dad further declined due to cancer diagnosis he tended to wander out of confusion and was a big fall risk. We requested a tabs alarm and were told they do not have any. He had two falls. Wh... read more
