So far so good using the GoldenKey agents as our buyer's agent. We are building a new house in a +55 community. We like the concept of being able to pick and choose the services we wanted with the buyer's agent which allows us to save some money from the commission refund. We went with the bronze package to have the agent attend and guide us for the contract and again at closing. Nice idea for the consumer, but it is possible SoloPro and the agents who use SoloPro are violating NC Real Estate License Law. If you're so inclined, see G.S. 93A‐1 and 2 and Rule A.0502. Agents thinking of using SoloPro should look at G.S. 93A‐6(a)(5) and (9) and Rule A.0109. SoloPro retains roughly 50% of the fees collected from consumers seeking services - services that require a real estate license in North Carolina.
