A Good Place for My Dog My Dog Cali has been going to Golden Paw for no less than 10 years now, ever since Golden Paw was still at Marsh Street. Cali loves to go to Golden Paw and "get her fur and nails done." I assume there is no walk-in since Golden Paw is busy & well patronized by the locals. Even if Petco's level of service is comparable to Golden Paw I would prefer to support a locally owned business against a "big box" store that can afford to undercut a mom & pop business. Pet Grooming Ewwww, poor service here. No walk ins welcome, with rude service. If and when you get an appointment work is decent. Prices are a bit high for my taste, even for just a bath. PROS: Good quality work, no vaccinations required CONS: High prices, no walk-ins, hard to get appointment
worse place I took my dog there last month this is the worse place.they do not know how to handle pets and this place stings.the employee there are very rude do not care for costumers.prices are high here my dag was smell bad they did not give it shampoo well.I would not recommand golden paw to anybody and would not go there in future again.
Very good pamper your doggie or even kitties! First of all for the above comment about the dog dying...The Golden Paw doesn't board dogs there and only has day care and are very nice and caring people who work there. I would recommend everyone to take there dog to the Golden Paw and pamper your dog
standard poodle We were very happy with the service that Golden Paw provided. Our standard poodle had been groomed at other locations and she was always the happiest at Golden Paw. I recommend the owner John he really did a nice job and she was always happy to go. Sarah has passed from a condition called BLOAT and we miss her terribly. We will bring our next poodle to John. Great local shop A great place with knowledgeable employees. My dog looked great after grooming and was very happy when i picked her up. I have been to this shop several times and my dog is always happy to go. I disagree with complaints below and I think owner John is very capable with animals and genuinely cares about the dogs.
Here was my first experience: I walked in, 3 of the employees were NOT wearing masks. I told them I had an appointment for my dog to get groomed, no one acknowledged my dog. They told me to leave her in a kennel in the middle of the shop and walk out, it made me nervous but I did it anyway. I drove maybe about 2 mins down the road and got a bad feeling and turned around, when I pulled up to The Golden Paw, my dog was standing alone with her leash still attached in the middle of Broad St (the busiest st in SLO). Miss Lewis We did have a conversation when you dropped Luna off.... Remember the part abt her shampoo and her brittle nails ! We are in covid 19 and wish we did not need to have kennels in the front for self drop offs but it's a must . You have never been to our shop and did not take the time to read the posted signs on kennels with instructions. Also I did say appologize but you were not listening . I am glad Luna is home & safe. RecommendedThey are fabulous. My Pom Mitzie gets her "Teddy Cut" there. We live in Santa Maria . John does the most perfect cut on her and she adores him.
John and the staff at The Golden Paw are awesome! I highly recommend.
