Homey and cozy old hotel, though service is not top notch. Spacious room and common spaces, good amenities including heated indoor pool, nice lobby with the lake view facing sunrise, free coffees from the pod machine, kayak, paddle and fishing boats available for free. Location is central, and this hotel seems to be the only one having its own beach. Plenty of space in the parking garage. The location was perfect. We loved being able to access both Mirror Lake and downtown Lake Placid. The room was set up well for a family vacation and we appreciated all the extra hooks and shelves. Our kids enjoyed swimming in the lake and jumping off the docks. The paddle boards, kayaks, and canoes were in excellent condition and available when we wanted to take them out. We appreciated the life jackets in different sizes so they could swim in the deeper water without an issue. We would definitely love to stay again.
Beautiful resort right on Mirror Lake. Our room was clean and spacious, and the views are absolutely amazing. You really can’t beat waking up to that view! The only downside was the front desk staff. When we checked in, they weren’t overly friendly and honestly made us feel like we were bothering them. Later we asked for directions to Generations for dinner, and apparently we interrupted Jeopardy because we definitely didn’t get the warmest response. 😂 Other than that, we’ve really enjoyed our stay.
