I had a patient that was left in our office w/o a nurse or any family members with him. He was wheelchair bound and was in our office for almost two hours after his appointment was done, because the bus driver was on lunch and the Director Of Nursing at the Golden Age Center told us that the bus driver needs lunch more than the patient needs to be picked up at this time and The driver will finish lunch and get back to us when she can. I work as a nurse for a local Dr's Office. We had a patient/resident come in to be seen. The nurse that brought the pt in his wheelchair, wheeled him to our office, up to the registration window, told us "Call me when you're done" and left. When I called to tell them the pt was done with his appointment and ready to be picked up, I was told that the bus driver was on his lunch break from 12 pm to 1 pm. I called at 12:10 pm.
