I am amazed at the good the American Heart Association is able to do my brother just received a mechanical heart that saved his life we are so blessed to have had this available to us. Because of this I decided to share my story on the Go Red for Women website go there and search my name to read it.
My girlfriend is pregnant with our baby girl and was recently diagnosed with a rare heart disease called holcomb disease

I can't imagine needing anything more then education about heart disease! I worked for a cardiologist for 7 years, I saw so many of our patients die. It was hard to see people who you grew close to die! :( It was so difficult to go through! I now have extremely high cholesterol levels. After having three open heart surgeries. Two mechanical valves and one which I had my pericardial sac removed I wear my little red dress pin with PRIDE!! I'm a survivor... I love life.
