I do not recommend Global Turf Irrigation or the owner, Walt D****. He is a Thief and a Liar. We contacted him to fix our Sprinkler system. There were five zones that did not work. He looked it over, said he could replace the system for $5,000 or fix it for $1,000. He recommended we fix it. My wife and I both asked if he had the time and the expertise to do the job. He said he did. He came with his helper twice, replaced four sprinkler heads (added $200 to the bill, which is fine) and said he had fixed everything. My wife gave him a check for $1,200. I was finally able to check everything out two days later, and nothing had changed. The same five zones did not work. I contacted him and he said they were working when he left. My wife made a mistake by not walking through the yard with him before paying him. That is on us. I do not believe in coincidences- those same five zones did not fail after he had fixed them. He did not fix them. He is a liar and has no integrity. It was two months we tried to get him to come fix what he said he would do. We agreed word of mouth, no contract. I have had good luck with that in the past. Most folks will do what they say they will do. Not Walt. I have all the texts of us requesting. He does not realize it, but his phone is set up to let the sender know when he reads a text. So I could always see when he read my requests and he would then not respond. The last was 22 days before he responded back. We were done with him at that point. We requested our $1,000 back since he did not do the work as contracted, he could keep the $200 for the four sprinkler heads. No response. My wife then wrote a review on Walk and his company. We heard from him then- Here is his response, unedited. If you want this man interacting with you in this way, by all means hire him. Text from Walt D****- " I will replace the valve that no one else could even find if you erase the crap written about me. I was contracted to get an 89 Camarillo running and I did. Expecting me to replace the transmission, power steering pump, alternator, and brakes under the original ESTIMATE is a god damn garbage Thing to do to somebody . I tried very hard to help and just get ******* **** on I never charged a ***** for the follow up trips that I didn't owe. Everything was working fine when we left and I walked (wife) through that. If it screwed up after we left I can't control that." I think he is equating my sprinkler system to an 89 Camarillo? Not sure what that is. He just might not be good at estimating what is wrong with a system. He said he would get it all done for $1,000 and he did not. He said he walked my wife through it after he "fixed" it. He did not. He is a liar and a thief and has no integrity or *****. I highly no Not recommend Walt or Global Turf Irrigation. My system is the same as it was before he showed up and he has my $1,000. Looking for someone to actually fix the system now. Thank you.

Business Response:

As I said in my other response to this, I was contracted to find and replace a valve that had not been seen in decades and we did that. A previous contractor installed a master valve to mask the problem (stuck valve) because he couldn't locate the bad valve--they can be very difficult to find scattered around a yard with decades of dirt and mulch added. I have found many valves over the years that others had given up on in this same way. We spent a lot of time digging and tracing then replacing the valve because that is the proper repair. Everything worked when we walked the system with the customer before leaving!---- When I got follow up calls later, it was for a different area of the yard and I advised it would be additional. Chris expected me to make his entire 1990's irrigation whole at the estimated price of one fix. That is the "89 Camaro" that my phone auto-corrected to. We returned and located the other malfunctioning valves (on other side of drive)--free of charge-- when the customer started with the threats to trash my reputation online. The customer doesn't have realistic expectations, and the harshness of my quoted message was a result of a slanderous review listed elsewhere.I've been doing this since the 1990's and this is the first complaint I've had, so this is clearly an exception.

Travis and his crew completed 2 jobs for me and I couldn't be happier. They installed an irrigation system about a year ago and a french drain along a retaining wall about a month ago. Travis went over both jobs with me ahead of time, and then he followed through with everything. The quality was great and the price was reasonable. I highly recommend Global Turf Irrigation, specifically Travis.

Estimate: Walter arrived on time and with some flags setting out a generic idea of what the job would look like as I had no specifics in mind. He also brought a catalog for pavers and stones that he left. He answered my questions, specifically best practices on rocking in a hill side, ripping out concrete stairs, emplacing stone stairs, patio placement relative to the house and fire-pit related questions. The estimate was sent the next day and the price was reasonable. He did not attempt to up-sell additional work and was honest about parts of the job that could be done later with no impact to the planned work Follow up: I had to text Walter back multiple times and the original planned date for the work was missed. He followed up though and told me there had been some mitigating circumstances and so we set another time for the work. This is the only reason this is not a five star review. The Work: His workers arrived on time, were professional and did a great job. The concrete stairs were removed and hauled away, the new stairs emplaced and a 12' X 24' patio put in along with rivers rocks covering a large section of hill. Everything was done on time and looked great. He smoothed out the area the workers had come in on and eve re graded the road where it had been damaged. Bottom line: Very happy with the work and would recommend and use again.
