Wonderful hike and friendly people along the way! The young man in the Trailside Museum was friendly and interacted well with the children. He did a nice job encouraging participation in the Earth Day 5K/10K!
I have been coming to Glen Helen since I was a kid, I love the diversity of wildlife, the variety of terrain and the various scenic spots. I am always amazed at how visitors treat it like a playground instead of a nature preserve, seeing people roam through wherever they please, disturbing the natural state of life. I hope that my grandkids one day will be able to experience this place, but I fear that the toll of visitors abusive behavior may be culminating in us losing a lot of the beauty. Educate, respect and conserve.
