Great Food & Atmosphere Great food!!! I am rarely eat meat, but I was able to enjoy all the side dishes this restaurant had to offer. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was excellent. The thing that impressed me the most was the Uptown half lemonade half iced tea! I have never seen anything like it. I will surely be making my way back the next time I'm in the area.
Soul food at it's best Highly recommended by guide book and they were right! Great fried chicken and waffles. Best sweet potatoe pie and corn bread too. Very crowded but worth the wait!
Horrible Service – After my hair appointment, I decided to try out Gladys Knight's restaurant across the street. BIG MISTAKE! I went inside the restaurant and it was half full. I stood there for a good 10 minutes and there was no host or hostess to greet me. Since living in Atlanta, I've come to love her restaurant at the downtown location. Tonight is the first time I've ever been to the Stonecrest location and I am extremely dissapointed. They told us "Your leavin on that just after 9pm train" – We visited Gladys and Ron's Chicken n Waffles in Lithonia GA. We arrived about 8:45 on 8/7/11 and were promptly seated. Nice huh? I didn't think we'd even be fed see it was close to closing (9pm Sunday nite). That's where the good times ended. Our food arrived and the squash casserole was microwaved. Not cool.
