Funky hotel - clean + good service
My elderly Mom locked herself in the bathroom, on our stay in July. It was 2:30 in the morning, staff came up quickly to unjam the door. All I got from management is an apology. This was a scary situation that turned out ok, but could have been dangerous.
This was not the hotel for our needs and it was the reason we shortened our stay in Toronto by 24 hours. We left the entire city a day early. Positive: Great location on Queen St W, near Ossington. Clean. Negatives: - Bathroom while somewhat separated has a colored glass wall right next to the bed meaning one can see the shape of a person before/after showering and on the toilet. The Gladstone is full of character and that's what we wanted. Didn't spend much time there apart from sleeping but staff were attentive and food was really nice .
