My 92 year old mother had 3 strokes in 2014 that required her to go through about 5 Assisted facilities. It was a nightmare for the family to have to leave her there. Fortunately after 3 months, we brought her home. I prayed not to have to see my mother go through this ever. Oct. 2017 she fell and broke her pelvic and was hospitalized. The decision to place a loved one in a nursing home, is never an easy one. My family and I went to several nursing homes, and we were horrified with the condition of the facilities, and the patients. So unbelievebly sad to see our elderly treated in such an uncaring way. This is why we were thrilled, beyond measure, that a facility like Glades West is available for my grandmother. The facility itself could not be better or newer or nicer. The nursing staff was not good. Very non responsive. No one seemed to want to help me. They rarely looked up. The care was terrible. They lost the hospital orders and found them only after I called and came by and called again. Awful. Therapy was fine.

Beautiful facility with terrible unresponsive care. I am fortunate that I intervened and got my brother to the ER. Repeated complaints about issues were ignored. Repeated requests to have the doctor call me were ignored. The doctors said we got him to the ER just in time to save his life. His levels were critical. I was told that the cause was because of his care. This happened with a caretaker and me as an advocate. They did not follow discharge orders when he arrived.
